Proposed Studio Apartment Interior at Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort, Sri Lanka

The Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort will be the largest integrated resort in South Asia upon its completion. A product of John Keells Holdings PLC, the resort promises to pay homage to the culture and exuberance of Colombo and Sri Lanka, incorporating unique elements of our heritage and architecture. Therefore, it was our honor to propose a Studio Apartment Interior at Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort which will eventually become an iconic part of the Colombo cityscape.

The Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort will include a wide array of sophisticated rooms and suites along with workspaces, restaurants, and an unparalleled shopping experience. In keeping up with the expected delivery of the resort, the proposed studio apartment interior by Concept Interiors includes cosmopolitan and timeless elements which construct a serene ambiance. Creating a spot to get away from the bustle of the city, a light color scheme was chosen for the studio apartment in order to create a serene ambiance of freshness and relaxation. The bold but muted colors on the wall draw in the visitor while the neutral-colored furniture acts as a perfect counterpoint for a time of leisure and rest.

Since studio apartments don’t have the most floor space, the open floor plan which combines the living area and the dining area makes the most of the space available and offers a host of amenities to any visitor. A space to unwind and loosen up along with a spot to have a relaxed meal is a must for any studio apartment, combining these two seamlessly is often a difficult task but at Concept Interiors, we always bring the best to our clients. Most importantly, incorporating the patterned rug allows for there to be a visual and physical demarcation between the living space and the dining space. The interior design thus enables us to optimize the available floor space and provide all the necessary amenities.

Mounting the TV on the wall is also a method used by interior designers to save on-floor space. It allows for storage underneath or a free space that can contribute to a light and airy feeling. Since there is little space in this studio apartment, it’s best to use the space available for storage. Furthermore, the hardwood floors provide a grounding force to the neutral colors of the walls and the furniture.

Once again, the neutral blocks of color in the wall provide relief and contribute to the serene ambiance. There is a much more aesthetic appeal in this bedroom than if the bed was pushed against a basic white wall. The colors used for the bedding also blend into the color theme seamlessly, creating a slideshow effect, especially with the plush light blue rug. Incorporating potted plants in a bedroom provides a different sort of relief. There isn’t clutter when one or two potted plants are used in interior design as a sort of statement piece and are not contending with other furniture or decorative pieces.

Including a small workspace and vanity brings this bedroom together. Even if you are on vacation, there are times when work imposes and the worst thing to happen during those times is not having a workspace. So, this tiny workspace is ideal to shoot off a few emails or make some calls. The most important thing is that the workspace can be considered an extension of the vanity area. It’s also the perfect spot to sit down and do your makeup. The mirror is also placed in a spot that offers maximum privacy since its placed in an indented wall space.

Both rooms in this studio apartment feature an alcove window with plush cushioning in complementary colors and blinds that can be drawn down to create the perfect relaxing spot to read a book or take a midday nap. The slate color of the walls also helps to create a soothing atmosphere while the more traditional lampshades in this room set the aesthetic for this whole room. Having a plant with the branches cascading down is a good counterpoint to the neutrality of the room. A plant with straight branches would not fit the aesthetic as well and would simply blend into the walls.

A side view of the bedroom shows how little floor space is available, so an alternative to the bedside tables is also a floating table that can create more space visually and physically. It’s also easy to feel cramped and cluttered in such a small space but the neutral colors used throughout the studio apartment ensure that such feelings are minimized. Making sure that the furniture used for storage is painted a bright white allows interior design to maximize the space and also create an airy feeling.

The proposed studio apartment at the Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort in Colombo, Sri Lanka offers a heaven for weary short-stay travelers to Sri Lanka. We, at Concept Interiors, have thus created an oasis of calmness by incorporating neutral themes and comfortable furniture that shapes a home away from home where you can languish in comfort. The unique atmosphere of the studio apartment in Colombo is based on the eternal features of modern trends and the idea of new serenity and rest. In this way, Concept Interiors can create your dream interior in any way that you desire.
